This rubbing is of Lady Katherine Howard d. 1535. Lady Howard was the aunt to Queen Anne Boleyn, and Queen Katherine Howard ,the ill fated second and fifth wives of Henry VIII who had them both beheaded in the Tower of London.
Lady Howard is depicted wearing a heraldic mantle, a form of dress for which there seems to be no evidence in real life, but which afforded an opportunity for identifying women of gentle birth in art. It carries the coat of arms of both she and her husband. At her feet is a squirrel. This is an unusual animal to be seen in brasses. However it could be explained by the fact that during the Middle Ages, they were kept as pets.
